Laurindo De Abreu Soto "Imprinted upon me is the shape I run to, the sweet, strange breath-taking contours that breathe to me "I am yours,be mine" Randall Jarell The aesthetics of my work are influenced by studies in eastern philosophies, such as Adveita Vedanta, Zen Buddhism and Taoism. My main concern is to explore ideas for contemporary sculpture , using a variety of materials and techniques, thereby extending the boundaries of my practice.
“I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious”. Andrew Wyeth My goal as an artist is to communicate directly through visual stimulation. A painting or sculpture if successful will leave the viewer affected by the artists’ ideas and memories. When painting , using wet in wet techniques and layering textures will result in a unique piece which to me is truly precious. I never want to be able to repeat a particular painting. Sculpture for me is about using body language to communicate as honestly as possible.
